A token allowance is a function of the Ethereum blockchain that allows a user to set a limit on how much a smart contract can remove from a wallet in any transaction using an ERC-20 token. This is a security measure on the blockchain that was created to give users more control over how much a smart contract can remove in case of an exploit.

You may be asked to adjust your allowance configuration if a transaction that you make on the Ethereum network exceeds the allowance that has been set in your wallet. If this is the case, click on "advanced allowance configuration" in the Spritz transaction window to adjust the allowance configuration with that token or coin.

We recommend setting your allowance configuration above the amount you anticipate to be transacting on a regular basis. You can adjust your allowance configuration anytime. Check on any allowances you've set on smart contracts in the past here (note: this is an external link).

Spritz takes security seriously. We will never ask you for your private keys.
