How to set your allowance configuration.
Updated over a week ago

When you make a payment on some networks with Spritz, you can adjust your allowance configuration in the payment window. To adjust your allowance configuration, click on "advanced allowance configuration" in the payment window.

Then set the amount you would like to allow Spritz to use. We recommend setting your allowance configuration well above the amount you anticipate to be transacting regularly. If you're using USDT, first you need to set your allowance configuration to $0, then go back and adjust it to a higher amount.

Once you confirm the new allowance in the transaction window, it will prompt you to confirm it in your wallet. Click confirm in your wallet, and it should automatically update the new settings. Now you can make your payment!

Why do I need to set my allowance configuration?

A token allowance is a function of the Ethereum blockchain that allows a user to limit how much a smart contract can remove from a wallet in any transaction using an ERC-20 token. This security measure on the blockchain was created to give users more control over how much a smart contract can remove in case of an exploit.

You may be asked to adjust your allowance configuration if a transaction you make exceeds the allowance set in your wallet. If this is the case, click on "advanced allowance configuration" in the Spritz transaction window to adjust the allowance configuration with that token or coin.

You can adjust your allowance configuration anytime. Check on any allowances you've set on smart contracts in the past here (note: this is an external link).

Spritz takes security seriously. We will never ask you for your private keys.
